Eden Project Update – Thank You!
A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Eden Project Morecambe update event recently at the The Rainbow Centre in Morecambe!

Si and Tracy offered valuable insights into the Eden Project Morecambe’s green-lit plans and shared their vision for a project that deeply involves and benefits our communities. The engaging Q&A session was particularly inspiring, with so many ideas, concerns, and ambitions shared by local organisations. It was truly energising to witness the depth of community interest and commitment.
We appreciate everyone’s input, questions, and enthusiasm—and look forward to continuing these conversations and partnerships with the Eden team and Lancaster City Council in the near future!

Measuring the impact of your organisation not only helps you identify what’s working well and what needs to be improved, but is also essential when making funding bids, and when proving your value to existing funders.
Measuring impact can help ensure that the voluntary sector’s contribution to the economy is recognized and included in economic growth strategies.

By attending this training participants will develop:
- their understanding of impact measurement and the business case for it
- an outline theory of change setting out your activities and impact for stakeholders, funders, and partners
- an initial impact measurement framework that works for participants and their organisations.

Lancaster District Directory – Technical Update
I wanted to take this opportunity to give organisations and users a quick update on an bug relating to location information on the Lancaster District Directory, and a new feature which should make searching for services even easier.
Location Information
There is currently an issue with displaying location information associated with services across all implementations of the Access Elemental Marketplace directory – not just in the Lancaster district. The search results table and individual listings currently show “No location information available” for all services.
This issue has been reported to the site developers and is being investigated, so I expect it to be resolved soon. In the meantime, all the rest of your service information including times, contact details, website addresses and images display as normal.
Filter by Activity Type
The search function on the site now allows you to filter by type of activity, as well as searching by keyword and displaying results in order of their distance from a postcode.
An example of this kind of search would be selecting Children & Young People from the activity type filter, and then searching using the word ‘singing’. The results are then cut down to a more manageable list, which is particularly beneficial for users who have some really specific things they’re looking for.
To make this filter as effective as possible I’m working to cut down the number of activity types so that the filter process can produce meaningful results. I’ll be carrying this out over the next few weeks so please bear with me. As always I really welcome feedback and new ideas.
If you ever have any problems, want to tell us about ideas for improvements or new features, or know about services you’d like us to include, please do get in touch with me directly by email at [email protected]
I’m also very happy to come along to your group and talk to your staff, volunteers and members about how to make the most of this resource.
Thanks very much!
Jenny Reddell, Community Health Officer

Cardiac Services Reconfiguration
The NHS Trusts in Lancashire and South Cumbria, along with the Integrated Care Board (ICB), are exploring improvements to cardiac services by adopting a network model. This model aims to enhance care quality and accessibility by having hospital teams collaborate more closely, potentially offering services locally rather than at major centres.
Benefits could include shorter waiting times, faster diagnostics, and better care. Patient feedback is being sought to understand current experiences and potential challenges before implementing any changes.
