Welcoming a New Year of Community Action

Happy New Year to you all from all of us at Lancaster District CVS! It’s that time of year once again where we all start to look forward to the next twelve months, at our goals and ambitions, what we would like to achieve and perhaps what challenges we would like to tackle. This is a handy reminder that LDCVS and the local voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector are here to support you.

You might be considering volunteering – to widen your social circle, to learn new skills, to add something to your CV, or just to have something to do – and so the Volunteer Centre could help you to find your ideal volunteering role.

Maybe you want to find a new activity to take part in, in which case you could find our online digital directory of services useful. And the Directory isn’t just about finding things to do; it can also point you towards help, so if you find that you need help or advice with something but you’re not sure where to go, try the Directory.

Maybe you’re already involved with a local organisation or project and need some help with it – funding, policies, training – whatever it might be we will be happy to support you. You might even want to start a brand new group – we can help with that too!

The voluntary sector is much wider and deeper than you probably realise, with so much going on, that whatever you need or are looking for you have an excellent chance of finding it pretty much on your doorstep. You can find all of our services above, plus more besides, on our website at www.lancastercvs.org.uk. You can also find us on Facebook, X, and YouTube and our social media channels are great places to find out about anything voluntary-sector related that’s happening across Lancaster district.

As for us, we’re looking forward to another year of supporting our colleagues across the VCFSE sector, as well as in the NHS and our local authorities; we’re looking forward to supporting you with your queries and requests; we’re looking forward to seeing projects and organisations across our district continue to thrive and go from strength to strength; and we’ll be supporting and hosting a range of events through the year, from volunteer recruitment fairs to Q&A sessions on topics that matter, and we’d welcome you along for the ride.
