Any voluntary, community, faith or social enterprise (VCFSE) group or organisation based in the Lancaster district is eligible for full membership of Lancaster District CVS. Organisations that don’t fit this criteria and consultants working commercially within the sector are eligible for associate membership.
Full Membership
Full membership is available, free of charge, to any organisation that:
- has a valid address within Lancaster District boundaries,
- is a registered charity or has aims or objectives which can be described as charitable,
- is a not-for-profit organisation,
- has a set of rules or a constitution,
- and supports our Values and our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy.
Associate Membership
Associate membership is available to individuals or organisations who do not fulfil the criteria for full membership. They are still required to support our Values and our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policy
If you do not meet our full membership criteria you may still become an associate member if you are:
- An individual such as a consultant working in the voluntary sector.
- A group that has an interest in our work or works in the district but whose registered address is elsewhere.
- An organisation constituted in a way that cannot be described as charitable (such as a local authority or company limited by shares).
Associate members receive our communications and may attend events and activities, however these are sometimes charged at a greater cost than to our full members. Associates are unable to take part in votes at our AGM.
There is currently no membership charge for Associates.
