Meet Your New Volunteers (September 2026)

Welcome to our monthly look at local people eager to help out – check out their profiles and see whether you might have something to offer them. Narges is a recently arrived lady who has hairdressing training and is particularly interested in using her skills as a hair colourist to support local people, and to keep up her skills while looking for paid work. This is a bit niche but if you think you could use someone with these skills get in touch.

We have two people in Morecambe looking for catering roles. We know about Brew Me Sunshine with Galloways, but if you are in the Morecambe area and need volunteers to help with food prep, serving customers, baking – anything like that – please let us know.

Janina is looking for a home-based role, ideally supporting older people through befriending. Janina loves to chat and has experience of supporting her own older family members. Now we know about Bay Volunteers and the Community Support roles with Lancashire Volunteer Partnership, but if you think your organisation or project could use Janina’s enthusiasm let us know.

Edna is a Lancaster-based lady looking for some experience in data entry, document management, email handling, Microsoft Office tasks, and general administrative work, to boost her CV around business administration and IT skills. Edna is still learning a lot of this stuff but is enthusiastic and dedicated.

Hughie is a Lancaster-based gentleman with a background in art. He’s especially keen to get involved with painting murals or other community art projects, as well as activities of a spiritual nature. He also likes the idea of supporting people 1-to-1.

Claire is local to the Skerton area and is looking for opportunities that will help her to make new friends and build her confidence, so if you have something that fits, let us know!
