About the Forum
The Lancaster District Mental Health Forum meets bi‑monthly at Positive Futures to share updates, surface needs, and collaborate on district‑wide actions. The forum includes statutory partners, VCFSE organisations, and people with lived experience.
Recent Projects & Activity Highlights
- Help is Close district-wide campaign: shared promotion of local mental health and wellbeing support.
- University Mental Health Day: a collective presence at Lancaster University and shared learning for future events.
- Brew Monday activities: community spaces promoting wellbeing and suicide prevention messages.
- Service Spotlights: highlighting the work of Positive Futures, Adullam, The Bay A Blueprint for Recovery, Exergonic CIC, LDCVS WorkWell, and others.
Hope Benches
A district-wide initiative planned between World Suicide Prevention Day and World Mental Health Day, installing Hope Benches at key locations to promote reflection, support, and awareness.
Key actions include identifying locations, seeking sponsorship, linking benches to the “Help is Close” directory via QR codes, and coordinating media and community engagement.

The forum meets once every two months, 2pm – 4pm at Positive Futures (701, Cameron House, White Cross Industrial Estate, South Rd, Lancaster LA1 4XF)
